Uncovering How The World Works
Grade 1 students have been hard at work, conducting hands-on experiments, and exploring scientific investigations, as part of their unit of inquiry, "How the world works”. To further their investigation, they hosted a series of captivating guest speakers, that visited the school to share their expertise:
Dr. Karen Tagulao, an esteemed biologist specialising in mangroves in Macao, shared her fascinating insights into the importance of mangroves and their impact on our planet's ecosystem. Her talk left the students in awe of nature, and the natural steps we can take to protect the environment around us.
Dr. Alexandre Lobo, an engineer with a focus on neuroscience, not only amazed our students with his extensive knowledge, but also wowed them with his fascinating brain-related gadgets! As they dove into the inner workings of the brain, our young minds buzzed with excitement understanding how this complex organ functions.
Last but certainly not least, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Simon Mok, a distinguished professor at M.U.S.T. and medical science expert, who shed light into the captivating world of microbiology. Grade 1 students discovered how these tiny organisms can make a very big impact on our lives.
This incredible opportunity for our young learners to engage with experts in their respective fields, igniting their curiosity and deepening their understanding of "How the world works"! The journey of exploration continues, but we couldn’t be prouder of our students' curiosity and eagerness to learn the world that surrounds them.
