TIS Students Excel in MathConceptition
TIS students continue to impress with their exceptional performance in Mathematics.
Recently, eighteen TIS students were selected to participate in the highly competitive competition, the MathConceptition. This annual competition challenges "mathematically gifted children from Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, Canada, and Singapore" to showcase their skills and compete for the championship.
Organised by MathConcept Education, the MathConceptition is a territory-wide math competition that includes an "Individual Contest" and an "Inter-School Contest." It is widely recognised as one of the toughest math competitions, and for good reason. The competition requires students to demonstrate their logical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and problem-solving techniques, all while under pressure.
Exceptional Results Achieved by TIS Students
Despite the tough competition, our TIS students rose to the challenge and excelled in the competition. Eighteen students from grades 1 to 6 were hand-picked by Ms. Johnston, our Elementary Vice Principal, and eleven of them received awards, a testament to their exceptional problem-solving skills and mathematical ability. In addition, our grade 2 and 3 students received Merit mentions out of all students in Macau, further highlighting the excellence of our students.
