TIS Secondary Sports Day
This year marked the 6th anniversary of Secondary Sports Day, a thrilling tournament that students look forward to each year. The day is filled with excitement, healthy competition and a great deal of fun as students from Grade 7 to 12 compete in a variety of track and field events. Organized by the PE Team, it is also a House Team day, where students earn points for their respective house teams.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as the M.U.S.T. field was filled with blue Phoenixes, yellow Lions, black Pandas and green Dragons. From long jump to triple jump, to javelin throw and shot put, the day hosted a variety of events that had everyone eagerly anticipating who would attain the best time, and perhaps even break a TIS record!
Our annual Sports Day helps promote physical activity in the outdoors, helping our students benefit from improved motor, social and cognitive skills, as well as some much needed fresh air, all of which encourage the development of an active lifestyle and overall healthy individual.
“Friendships are born on the field of athletic strife and the real gold of competition. Awards become corroded, friends gather no dust." - Jesse Owens
The day came to an end as fellow competitors showcased their sportsmanship towards one another, students and teachers all cheered for their fellow house team mates, and our talented athletes gave it their all on the field. Well done Tigers!
