2023 ACAMIS Spring Leadership Conference
On April 15th and 16th, under the theme of “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow”, leaders of The International School of Macao (TIS), Canadian International School of Guangzhou (CISGZ) and the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) collaborated to hold the 2023 ACAMIS Spring Leadership Conference. The conference attracted more than 80 schools and enterprises from China, Hong Kong, Macao and neighbouring countries in Asia, with more than 400 leaders and educators in attendance.
In his welcome speech, Dr. Howard Stribbell, TIS school supervisor and member of the board of directors at ACAMIS, highlighted this excellent opportunity for colleagues in the education sector to share the latest developments in current international education, and discuss it's future together.
The conference showcased a number of workshops, with invited speakers being distinguished educators and experts in their fields. Among these, Dr. Howard Stribbell, TIS school supervisor, spoke on the future development of the international education industry; Mrs. Amanda Kiat, the TIS Secondary School Principal, shared how to maintain good mental health and life balance in school; and Mr. Todd Voykin, TIS Technology Department Head, spoke on the development and impact of artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, on the future of education.
In addition, the convention invited special guest Mr. Marlon Devonish, an Olympic champion and former British sprinter, to share his incredible success story in the face of all adversity.
TIS believes that these exchanges help understand the future trend and development of international education, providing knowledge, insight and skills to leaders and educators across different schools. We hope to hold more conferences that will deepen mutual understanding, make significant contributions to the international education community, and lay a foundation for students’ continuous and further advancement.
