TIS Summer Camp 2024

TIS Summer Camp 2024 was an incredible 4 week experience filled with a diverse range of activities, workshops and exciting field trips. Here are a few of the highlights our campers enjoyed:

STEAM

Our young STEAMists had the opportunity to explore different concepts, as they made balloon-powered cars, designed egg-dropping devices, and created their own water features - all while learning the underlying principles of physics, engineering, and design that allow them to make these projects a success.

Performing Arts

Campers developed a wide range of skills, including the art of puppetry, improvisation, mime and tableau performances, that they showcased during weekly performances for family and friends. These helped them  hone in their verbal and nonverbal communications, presentation skills, and provided a great outlet for creative expression.

Science

The science-focused activities were just as exciting! They learned about volcanoes by creating their own erupting models, and built intricate solar system representations. Applying mathematical skills, the students also learned to calculate a budget, and practised their entrepreneur skills by setting up their own business ventures.

Culinary Arts

Our chefs-in-the-making whipped up delicious treats from all over the globe, trying out recipes from different countries, from appetisers to main courses, to desserts. This helped them develop their palates and gain a deeper appreciation for the world's diverse flavours.

Chinese

Campers got familiar with Chinese characters, using the 3D printers to create their own replica of their chosen characters. They also learned a variety of ways Chinese traditional medicine can be applied to not only treat our bodies, but also to keep them in top shape! 

Experiential Learning

Summer camp’s educational focus is always complemented by immersive field trips that allow campers to experience real-world learning in engaging and memorable ways. Campers visited a variety of places, including the dentist office, the science museum, Hac Sa beach, and even the local market to learn how to pick the best ingredients for their cooking recipes!

TIS Summer Camp 2024 has been truly remarkable, and we couldn't be more proud of all that our young campers have accomplished in the past 4 weeks. We look forward to having new and returning campers for TIS Summer Camp 2025, where we await another memorable and transformative adventure! #TISSummerCamp
