Tigers make great Digital Citizens!
As children grow up in a fast developing digital world, ensuring their safety online has never been more pertinent. At TIS, we actively advocate for our student’s safeguarding on and off the internet. We believe in equipping our students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to being responsible digital citizens that have a positive and safe online presence. When used correctly, technology can be a great tool to aid in productivity and knowledge acquisition.
To celebrate our students’ healthy relationship with technology, TIS dedicates a week to Digital Citizenship, where students and teachers challenge themselves to think about their roles and digital footprints, through a series of discussions and fun activities. Each day has a different theme that highlights what it means to be a responsible citizen:
Day 1 - Students wore silly socks to promote a safe and healthy digital footprint!
Day 2 - Students miraculously grew moustaches! As teachers "moustached" them to be kind online.
Day 3 - Kindergarten students took their hats off to people who help keep them safe online, while elementary and secondary students put them on to remind them to think critically about what they see on the internet!
Day 4 - TIS was shining bright as everyone wore gold or yellow, to remind them that protecting personal online information is GOLD!
Day 5 - Finally, on the last day of Digital Citizenship Week, students wore their pyjamas so they would remember to not fall asleep on their Digital Responsibility.
By bringing awareness to online safety practices, our students are better equipped to navigate our growing digital world, in a secure and rewarding way. #TISEmpowersLearning
