2025 Musical: Finding Nemo Jr.
This past weekend, our school staged three performances of Finding Nemo Jr., featuring an impressive cast of 75 elementary students who dove into the big blue to bring to life this beloved tale. The production not only showcased their singing and acting abilities but also highlighted the importance of teamwork in the arts.
Managing such a large cast posed significant challenges, yet the results were nothing short of extraordinary. “It doesn't really sound possible, but everything went well this year. The students were very prepared and their singing was great!” said Ms. Stribbell. “They remembered all their cues and transitions were remarkable. I am incredibly proud of them.”

Getting all the students on and off the stage efficiently required intense focus and coordination. During rehearsals, working with smaller groups sometimes led to motivation dips among others. However, these challenges ultimately fostered teamwork and resilience for our young performers.
One of the standout moments was the jellyfish scene, where the colourful costumes and the choreography transported the audience to the underwater world. “It was truly magical”, noted one of the audience members.
Over the past five months, the students showed immense growth in their confidence and performance skills. “As they learn about musicals, they become more open-minded and learn to be risk-takers. I love seeing each student grow in independence and courage over the 5 months. It brings me great joy to be a part of it” Ms. Stribbell added.

As for those interested in pursuing the performing arts, the message is clear: embrace the journey. Ms. Stribbell emphasized that “the Arts provide a unique way to express ourselves, whether through music, visual arts or theatre”. Being part of the team is a rewarding experience. "Always give it your all and enjoy the process!"
As the curtains fall on yet another successful production, students are reminded that every performance is a stepping stone in their artistic journey. Embrace the challenges, and have the courage to pursue your passions!
